Dans la catégorie des skieurs atypiques, Chris Booth a pris la corde. Cet Australien, formé en alpin puis en bosses à Perisher Blue en Nouvelle Galle du Sud, n'a eu besoin que d'une seule occasion pour se faire remarquer dans l'univers newschool. Alors qu’il passe des vacances avec son père à Whistler, il est admis pour concourir à l'Invitational Freeskiing Championship en tant que “Forerunner”. Malgré une chute, son style impressionne et il se retrouve sponsorisé à tout juste 13 ans. Continuant sur sa lancée, il participe aux finales des X-Games à 15 ans et fait partie des skieurs engagés sur le projet Himalayan Search de Rip Curl à 19 ans (quatre freestylers déposés dans le massif des Annapurnas, expérience qui a donné lieu au documentaire de Christophe Rosavallon “Les Sommets de l'Humilité”). À 20 ans, il décide de reprendre ses études et de devenir avocat. Aujourd'hui, Chris passe huit mois de l'année à l'université de Sydney et le reste à écumer les massifs du monde. Après deux tournages en Alaska et en Nouvelle-Zélande, le jeune juriste surdoué du freestyle traversera à nouveau le globe pour venir nous éblouir par sa créativité. 

Chris Booth isn’t your typical skier. First of all, he’s Australian. Hestarted training in alpine skiing, then moguls at Perisher Blue in NewSouth Wales and a single opportunity was all it took to launch himinto the New School world. While he was on holiday in Whistler withhis father, he was given the opportunity to take a run as a forerunnerin the Freeskiing Championship invitational. Although he had onefall, his style was noticed and he picked up a sponsor at the young ageof 13. Forging ahead in the world of New School skiing, heparticipated in the X Games finals when he was 15 and took part inRip Curl’s Himalayan Search project at age 19 (four New Schoolskiers were dropped off in the middle of the Annapurna range, anexperience which was recorded in Christophe Rosavallon’sdocumentary “les Sommets de l’Humilité”- The Summits ofHumility). At age 20, he decided to go back to school to become alawyer. Today Chris spends eight months of the year attending theUniversity of Sydney and the rest exploring the world’s mountainranges.
