Second du Red Bull Linecatcher en 2009, sixième en 2010, JP Auclair revient toujours aussi inspiré pour cette troisième édition. Ex-membre de la fameuse Canadian Air force en équipe nationale de bosses, JP a été l'un des principaux agitateurs du freestyle newschool. Initiateur de la révolution freeski, il a été sur tous les fronts du renouveau en participant au lancement des 1080 et Pocket Rocket chez Salomon et en remportant les premières compétitions de newschool organisées en 1998 : Big Air de l'US Open et King Of The Hill. Désenchanté par la compétition, il décide dès 1999 de se consacrer au backcountry et aux images. Nominé ‘Skieur de l'Année’ aux NEA Awards en 2000, puis par ESPN en 2001, il ne compte plus le nombre de segments tournés avec les productions Poorboyz depuis 1997. Cofondateur d'Armada, cosignataire du promodèle JPvJulien, coréalisateur des vidéos UP1 avec Julien Regnier Lafforgue, JP est sans doute l’un des personnages les plus influents du freestyle backcountry. Enthousiasmé par les compétitions de backcountry depuis l’apparition du Red Bull Cold Rush et du Red Bull Linecatcher, il a décidé de reprendre la compétition pour montrer qu’il demeure l’un des grands innovateurs du freestyle.

A former memberof the famous Canadian Air Force in mogul skiing, JP was one of thepioneers of New School freestyle skiing at the beginning of the 90’s.He initiated the metamorphosis and was active on all fronts at thiseuphoric point in time by launching Salomon’s 1080 and PocketRocket skis and by winning the first New School freestylecompetitions organized in 1998 : the US Open’s big air contest andRiksgransen’s King of the Hill. Disillusioned by competition afterspending so many years on the national team, he finally hung up hisbibs in 1999 in order to devote his time to backcountry filming andphoto shoots. He was nominated skier of the year at the NEA Awardsin 2000, then again by ESPN in 2001, and has been in countless skimovie segments with Poor Boyz productions since 1997. He is a co-founder of Armada, co-designer of the JpvJulien pro-model andco-director of UP1 films with Julien Reginer Lafforgue. Without adoubt, JP is one of the most influential people in the New Schoolbackcountry world. Enthusiastic about backcountry competitionssince the appearance of Red Bull Coldrush and Red Bull Linecatcher,he decided to race again to show he remains one of the greatinnovators of freestyle.
